Can I still do this under the current COVID 19 restrictions?

Yes – as we are an organised activity with a COVID 19 officer, they, along with the team, have implemented the necessary procedures to ensure your safety.

How do I know which course I should do?

Assess how adventurous and comfortable you are with heights. Please use the link below to choose a course.

Course picker

The booking system will not let me book as many tickets as I want?

There is no more availability for that session. During COVID19 our sessions are limited.

Can make a booking on the phone?

Unfortunately not because our internet is so slow, the system times by the time we take the card details or double charges.

Can I book on the day or just turn up?

At the moment bookings have to be made by 8pm the night before. This allows us to ensure we have the right ratios for social distancing.

I have gift card, can I redeem it against an activity?

Yes, select the activity you want, fill in all your details, click on add to cart. You should now be on the page that asks for your card details. On the left side of the grey box where the total is shown in blue is an area that says “Apply a gift card” input in your gift card number. The system will take off the gift card amount from your total.

I would like to book a party, how do I do this?

We have party packages where you can pay for a dedicated instructor instead of having participating adults. Please email us with numbers and age of the group on activities@craufurdland.co.uk

Can a 16 year old be the participating and/or accompanying adult on the course for under 16s?
Unfortunately not, the participating and/or accompanying adult must be at least 18yrs.
If youths are booked on to do the course themselves does an adult need to be there on the ground supervising?
Yes, an adult must be present on the ground to supervise any under 18 yrs participants.
I have not received my waiver link ?

Is it still on if it is raining?

Yes, rain does not affect the ability to do the course. The sessions are only cancelled due to thunder & lightening or high winds.

Can I just turn up?

During COVID 19 everything must be pre-booked, we have limited our sessions to ensure social distancing.

Why does long hair need to be tied up?

Due to slight chance of hair getting caught in PPE, K-hook and the zipline trolly we suggest having long hair in a ponytail as plaits can be uncomfortable while wearing a helmet.

What do I need to wear?

Long sleeve top, full length trousers and trainer type footwear.

Why do I have to take my jewellery off?
If it catches on the course and you fall, it will rip through your flesh.
Do I need to wear a mask?

If you want to you can, our instructors wear masks.

I have fear of heights, which course should I do?

Explorer is 3m high (nearly the height of a single decker coach) – from age 5 – 12 yrs
5-8 yrs inclusive need 1 participating adult per 2 children

Pioneer is 3.5m-6m meters high (6m is as high as an average 2 story house) – from age 9 yrs
9-12 yrs inclusive need 1 participating adult per 2 children

Hero finishes at 14m high (as high 3 double decker buses) – from age 13 yrs
13-15 yrs inclusive need 1 participating adult per 2 children

Why do I see people climbing without a helmet?

Due to health & safety, the helmet needs to be removed during The Stoat Tree Climb due to the type of PPE (Auto belay device) that is used and there is a small risk of the helmet getting trapped on the handholds attached to the tree.

Can I take part if I have a disability?

Please call us to discuss as disability can mean a lot of things and we want to ensure you to have an enjoyable experience.

Is there anywhere I can get a coffee?

Yes, we have a takeaway and The Laird’s Table restaurant on site – Tel: 01560 600 003.

(please remember during COVID 19, the restaurant needs to be pre-booked).

Are there any toilet facilities?

Yes, in the restaurant. Please remember you will need to wear a face mask, give your details for Test & Protect and follow the one-way system.

Do I have pay to watch?

No – we love you to follow them on the ground and encourage them, please stay outside the orange rope for your safety. Please note it is advised to have sensible footwear due to the type of pathways. Unfortunately the pathways are unsuitable for wheelchairs/mobility scooter.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, however they must be kept on a lead and please pick up after them.

Tree Top Trials Explorer Experience

From what age can my child do The Explorer course?

From age 5 year old, 5-7 year olds MUST have 1 participating adult per 2 children.

From what age can my child do The Explorer on their own?

From age 8 children can do Explorer on their own however an adult (over 18) must be present on the ground to supervise.

My child is 7 but confident can they do The Explorer without an adult?

Unfortunately not as they will not be covered by our insurance and health & safety policy, 5-7 years old MUST have 1 participating adult per 2 children.

I want to book a party for my kids, do I need to have adults if they are between 5-7 yrs.

The booking system will not let me book a child?

The adult ticket needs to be selected first.

From what age can my child do The Pioneer Experience?

From age 9 years old.  9-12 year olds MUST have 1 participating adult per 2 children.

From what age can my child do The Pioneer on their own?

Children from age 13 can do Pioneer on their own but an adult (over 18) must be present on the ground to supervise.

My child is 12 and very confident can they do The Pioneer Experience on their own?

Unfortunately not as they will not be covered by our insurance and health & safety policy. To do the Pioneer Experience on their own children need to be 13 at the time of the activity. Under 12s need 1 participating adult per 2 children.

I want to book a party for my kids, do I need to have adults if they are between 9-12yrs.

Tree Top Trials Hero Experience

The booking system will not let me book a child?
The adult needs to be selected first.
I have never done anything like this but I want to do The Hero Experience?

We really wouldn’t recommend it as it is an arduous course, it is up to 3 hours long and the final zone starts with a 14m chimney climb and ends with 14m straight drop.

From what age can my child do The Hero Experience?
From age 13 yrs. 13-15-year-olds MUST have 1 participating adult per 2 children.
From what age can my child do The Hero on their own?

Youths from age 16yrs can do Hero on their own but an adult (over 18) must be present on the ground and able to walk round with the group.

My child is 15 and very confident can they do The Hero Experience without an adult?

Unfortunately not as they will not be covered by our insurance and health & safety policy. To do the Hero Experience on their own children need to be 16 at the time of the activity. Under 16s MUST have 1 participating adult per 2 children.
